We had big goals, little time, and a tight budget when we bought a 1950s cape cod in the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant. The location and lot were great and the house was solid. It was too small for our family and had the original electrical and plumbing. Once our architect drew up the plans (a total gut renovation with an addition of 1600 sq ft) we asked her for builder recommendations. Bart was high on her list. After interviewing four builders we selected Bart. His bid was thorough and he met with us several times to get an understanding of what we were looking for. Bart finished our project in record time; 5 months! No renovation is without a surprise or two but Bart was there every step of the way to roll with the surprises and assure us we were still on track. We’ve been in the house almost a year now and Bart is still available when we have a question or any little concern.
In my line of work I meet a lot of builders. I’ve often observed that we have too many “builders” who are actually businessmen, not people that know both the business side and how to swing a hammer. Bart knows both sides. We love our house so much that I doubt we’ll ever leave, but if we do, we’ll be using Bart again.
